A spectacular dance offer.
The 2018 program of Madrid en Danza about a careful selection of people especially for the occasion. The lineup is intended to be a solid, compact and entertaining bet, which is a response in accordance with the loyalty shown by the festival’s audience over the years. From the National Ballet of China to Hervé Koubi and his Barbarian Nights, from Kukai Dantza to ImPerfect Dancers Company. Those are the successful companies, such as Gatsby’s Grand Ballet with Denis Matvienko, one of the most dynamic international ballet stars of today.
The same will happen with Spanish dance and flamenco, with the names of the leaders of the line-up -Eduardo Guerrero and Joaquín Grado- and with the presence of young up-and-coming talents, such as Marco Flores and Cristian Martín Cano. [19659005] Other outstanding contributions are the British Columbia Ballet, directed by Emily Molnar and bringing, among other works, one by Cayetano Soto and another by Crystal Pite, the great revelation as a choreographer in the world today; the company Danza móvil with El festín de los cuerpos; The Resodancer group with a mixed program of choreographies by Shi Pratt, Guy Shonroni and Yaniv Abraham; The Larrua Project, led by Jordi Villaseca, and ImPerfect Dancers, who will offer their own revision of Lady Macbeth, under the choreographic direction of Walter Matteini and Ina Broeckx. Víctor Jiménez since 2008, on the creation of Terrenal, with music by Mozart and Jorge Sarnago.
This 2018 marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Marius Petipa, the greatest choreographer of all time and the aesthetic axis of the best universal ballet heritage. His prodigious creativity is still present and alive today. Danza de Madrid and Danza de una obra by Russian artists, first dancers of the main companies of that country, where the 92 years are published, after having been bequeathed masterpieces that are still danced today, such as The Sleeping Beauty, The Bayadère or Swan Lake.
